John Cole - The Scranton Times-Tribune - North Korea missile launch BW - English - north korea, missile, hunger, kim jong un,
North Korea tried to launch a missle to the west side of the world. However the launched failed and landed into the sea. This cartoon claims that the missle did nothing but destroy the food aid in Korea, I guess because of the money spent. If the missle was aimed for us, I'm glad it failed.
Matador - El Tiempo, Colombia - Petición de legalización - Spanish - Obama, Cumbre de las Américas, Droga, Legalización
Apparently, according to this cartoon visual, Obama was or is a smoker and basically the other smokers of the country are still pushing for the legalization of marijuana. This is a guy, he looks kind of straggly, boring and maybe even smelly, but he has his joint and I'm sure is ready to vote for Obama for legalization of probably his favorite thing to do, smoke weed.
Jimmy Margulies - The Record of Hackensack, NJ - Mitt Romney and women voters - English - Romney, Mitt Romney, women voters, Romney for president, Planned Parenthood, Womens health, Womens reproductive rights, Planned parenthood funding, Republican war on women
This cartoon of Mitt Romney standing next to the dead funding of planned parenthood's tombstone, is basically a visual of two of his top prioroties at the moment. #1: Attract female voters. #2: propose to get rid of planned parenthood. The creator of the cartoon is giving Mitt an answer to his question: "Why can't I attract Women voters?", the answer being because he is proposing to make changes that they don't want to see happen. Hopefully he learns what he should do.
Dave Granlund - Politicalcartoons.com - Obama vs Romney 2012 prom - English - Women voters, war against women, stay at home moms, mothers, females, ladies, election, gop, Democrats, prom season, statue of liberty, date, presidential election
This political cartoon, is a humorous poke at the recent contraversy between republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama. Hilary Rosen (democratic activist/the president's advisor) recently released some comments targeting Mitt Romney's wife Ann Romney.
On the April 11, 2012, during an appearance on CNN, Rosen commented on the difficulties faced by women in a slow economy, and the Romney campaign's claim that Barack Obama's presidency was bad for women, These were her comments:
"What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues and when I listen to my wife that's what I'm hearing.' Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and why do we worry about their future."
These comments did not sit well with the Obama camp or the Romney camp. However none the less, both the republican and democratic representatives have to try to get voters on their side early. This particular cartoon is focused on women voters. The statue of liberty is the "prom date of choice for both Barack and Mitt. I guess we'll see who gets to go with her in November.

This cartoon is displaying U.S. congressman Paul Ryan trying to convince republicans (elephants) that medicare is bad and it needs to be "killed". However the more the elephant (republican) tries to kill medicare, its just killing itself; due to Paul Ryan thinkinig he knows best.

Shannon Wheeler - Too Much Coffee Man! - Looks Like a Terrorist - English -
In this cartoon, a controversial issue is poked fun at. The topic of racial profiling and discrimination. Ever since 9/11 almost anyone who was muslim, had an arab acsent, wore a garb, and had a suni was at one time considered to look like a terrorist. The humor here is that this man actually has a bomb strapped to him, but the woman is more concerned with his beard; with the caption reading : "That beard makes you look like a terrorist." Instead of the bomb around his waist being the thing that makes him look like a terrorist.

In this particular cartoon, little red riding hood and the bad wolf are portraying Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, two people who have been recently discussed more than anyone in the country this past month.  Trayvon Martin was a seventeen year old boy who was visiting his father in a neighborhood in Florida. Zimmerman was said to be the neighborhood watch-man. On his way back from the corner store, while on the phone with his girlfriend, Trayvon was murdered by Zimmerman for supposedly looking "suspicious" according to Zimmerman's standards...  A black kid with a hoodie on! Zimmerman was not charged of any crime due to Florida's self-defense law, he also claims that Trayvon's hoodie (that he was wearing when he was killed) gave him a feeling that Trayvon was a thug or up to no good, and this is the absolute controversy of this horrific tragedy. The cartoon shows the bad wolf has shot red riding hood to death, and the police officers at the crime scene look to be nonchalauntly pondering on whether or not to arrest him. The caption shows that the wolf is claiming self-defense, which may be his pass to escape prosecution; just like George Zimmerman was not charged for shooting Trayvon & taking an innocent person's life.
The author of this cartoon definitely seems to be on Trayvon's side of the controversial case, feeling that the police, and the shooter in this horrible situation just blatenly don't care about this wrong-doing.
